Nurse, a Sexy Representation?
Friday, June 4th, 2010
Movie or even TV today gives us a very wrong insight about a nurse image. In excess of the years, the show-business gives no appreciation to the profession. Often time nurses are portrayed as girl job rather than a man job. Besides the bias that generated by the media, repeatedly women nurses are exposed with a sexy image.
It is said that nurse sexy representation comes from the era of burlesque shows. It was a film called “Wanted: A Nurse” in1906. It’s a play about a nurse that pictured as something sexy. Unfortunately, that wrong image keeps going on in movie or TV through today.
Nursing is actually a very honorable profession people could hold. It is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). CNA is a person who helps people with healthcare needs. They work under the supervision of a licensed practical nurse (LPN). CNA assists them to do the every day living activity like bathing, dressing and toileting.
So, if you interested to make better the nursing image, be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The first step is, you can join the cna classes programs held by the Red Cross, community colleges, or online schools. All Certified Nursing Assistants have to take an exam before they turn out to be competent nursing assistants.
